VB: AHS Players Name UIL & TGCA All State

Volleyball: Austin High School has 2 standouts named to TGCA All-State team

The last of the accolades for the 2015 Austin High School Bulldogs volleyball team and repeat 6A-23 Champions came in Wednesday and fans won’t be disappointed as two individuals were named to the Texas Girls Coaches Association 6A Volleyball All-State team.

Seniors Paige Swinney and Mallory Nicholson made the cut for the prestigious honor, which included no other players from Fort Bend ISD. Athletes for the TGCA All-State teams are nominated by member coaches and are selected by the TGCA All-State Committee at the annual meeting during the UIL State.

Swinney and Nicholson helped lead the Bulldogs to their first state tournament appearance before falling to state champion Lewisville Hebron. Nicholson along with Senior Madison Rhoder were named to the UIL 6A State Championship All-Tournament Teams selected by the Texas Girls Coaches Association Volleyball Committee. Amy Cataline, coach of the Austin Bulldogs, said,

“The seniors are leaving an inspirational legacy of leadership, passion and excellence.  I am beyond proud of each player for their accomplishments and their commitment to being team focused.”
