Baseball Fundraiser – COED Softball Tourney
Austin High School Baseball – What does the Fundraiser Benefit?
Each year I get asked what does the money the baseball program raise go towards. I understand people wanting to see where their hard earned donated dollars go. For the 2013/2014 season we have identified several projects that will need to be predominantly funded with private dollars. Here is an example of a how funds will be used this upcoming season.
- Extra uniforms to be able to bring up JV players during playoffs. The district buys 18. We order 4 extra.
- Game Hats
- Fertilizer and dirt for both infield and outfield
- Windscreens behind home plate and a couple of other areas
- Replacement fence pickets in the outfield
- Paint for the outfield fence and dugout areas
- Baseball equipment (i.e. backpacks, bats, balls, etc..)
- Protective L-screens, Square screens, 5-Batting Tees, 1-Pitching platform
With budget cutbacks at the district level many schools in Fort Bend County and throughout the country are being forced to look for private donations. These are most often sourced from straight donations or fund raising events. The purpose of our Annual softball tournament is to kick-off such fundraising efforts ahead of the baseball season. This ensures money will be available to get the baseball complex ready and the players have the uniforms and equipment they need when the season starts in February.
Your support of the program is appreciated. Should anyone want to discuss the cost of a particular item or ask any questions, please contact me.
